About
Javier Bono is a street photographer based in Barcelona. He reads the city as a graphic composition: strong shapes, intentional colour and hard light, with people as passing elements rather than portraits. From 1998 to 2009 he worked as an official photographer at the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), with his work published in specialist motorsport magazines. During those years he was also the owner of rallyeweb.com, one of the leading rally websites of its time. That experience of reading light and anticipating the decisive moment now shapes his street work. Most of his work is made on foot in Ciutat Vella and across Barcelona, alongside ongoing series on architecture and travel. His influences include Saul Leiter and Fan Ho. He is a member of the Agrupació Fotogràfica de Catalunya (AFC) and competes in the league of the Federació Catalana de Fotografia. Prints and commissions are available upon request.
